The Brief

First Class Cleaning M.A Ltd is a cleaning service business based in Essex. They came to us for a simple, professional cleaning website design with a limited budget and a short deadline. Despite the tight turnaround, we took on the project and delivered a complete website design for their cleaning business.

Starting From Zero Technical Experience

The client had no prior experience building or managing a website. This meant the project involved more than just design and development. We took time to walk her through the fundamentals as we worked. We explained what a domain is and what hosting means.

That started with the very first decisions. Since her budget was low, we recommended two affordable and dependable options: Namecheap and HostArmada. We actually use HostArmada for our own hosting. She decided to go with Namecheap for both services.

We collected essential information directly from her before starting any design work. We asked what the business does, who it serves, and how customers typically make contact. This was crucial for structuring the site and preparing the content.

Platform and Plugins

We built the site on WordPress using the default Gutenberg editor rather than a third-party page builder. For a small business site like this, that choice matters: Gutenberg loads less code and runs faster than page builder plugins that add their own bloat on top of WordPress. Alongside Gutenberg, we used:

Filling the Gaps: Images and Copy

The client came to us with no images and no written content, which is common for many small businesses. So we sourced relevant photos ourselves and edited them in Canva to match the site’s design and layout. We also handled all the copywriting; she didn’t need to write anything herself.

What Went Live

The finished site covered six pages: Home, Services, About, Blog, Privacy Policy, and Contact. Since most of the client’s enquiries come by phone rather than through a form, we added a click-to-call button so that mobile visitors could reach them in one tap instead.

The Outcome

First Class Cleaning M.A Ltd went from no online presence to a working, professional website, built to their budget and delivered in quick time. It’s a good example of what’s possible for a small, local service business when the process is built around their actual constraints rather than a standard package.
